"Belgians provided a $1.2 investment in Cambridge-based CampusCareerCenter.com, which provides recruiting services enabling companies to
identify and hire students for worldwide employment.
The money came from Fountainhead, a Belgian venture capital firm, in exchange for Series A preferred equity. As a part of the deal,
Fountainhead has the right to invest an additional $1 million through October 16, 2000.
Fountainhead is a fund focused on making investments in the educational and career space internationally. Its investment portfolio is
advised by Magnus Nilsson, a director of AB Novestra, a Swedish VC firm with a focus on Internet-related investments.
CampusCareerCenter.com's Web site and database application is set up to offer a meeting place for university students in both
baccalaureate and masters programs at educational institutions throughout the world and the companies that seek to hire them.
Matt Casey and Gary Geraci are the 27-year-old co-founders of CampusCareerCenter.com. They met as students at the University of
Rochester in 1992.
Casey, founder and president of CampusCareerCenter.com, commented, ".... this investment will allow us to accelerate our plans to
immediately service companies throughout the world. Our initial presence will be in Europe and Asia and over time will spread to all
other locations."
Geraci, who handles Worldwide Student Liaison, has helped create a worldwide association of university Career Centers and
international student organizations. The company refers to this online academic association as The Global Campus Recruiting Network."
