Receipt of scholarship money was need based and incorporated the following criteria: involvement in community, academics,

Debra Ivey, Director of Content Development and Student Services, states "This was an eye-opener for me. I never knew there was so much need out there! It was a very difficult choice to make. Over 500 applicants submitted before the deadline, then the grueling selection process began. Our only regret was that we could only choose a select few. However, we gave gift certificates to the next in line, and then T-shirts to everyone else. A shirt won't pay your tuition, but I hope it allowed students to see that we genuinely care, and appreciate the time and effort they spent telling us their stories."
