Online recruiting: Try these sites to get your program off the ground
Suddenly online recruiting is hot
Now may be the time to take a second look at on-line recruiting. The dot-com boom may be as dead as a coffin nail, but online recruiting is getting hot. The percentage of hires from the Web has climbed 10% in just the last six months.
You may want to start by taking a look at some of the new online recruiting services.
Some sites we can recommend:
- www.selectminds.com helps you set up an online "alumni" forum both for rehiring former employees and for marketing. At New York Life, 8000 ex-employees signed up the first month. Call 212-683-2985 or e-mail info@selectminds.com
- www.brainbench.com offers an array of online skills tests, which can be used to assess both candidates and existing staff. There's a test for almost everything: office skills (typing, filing, customer service, etc.), software (Word, Excel, ACCESS, Oracle, PowerPoint and others), industry knowledge, health care, computer language, management skills foreign languages (French and Spanish) and written communication.
- www.referalnetwork.com helps you set up referral networks (online or offline), track applicants and administer awards.
- www.campuscareercenter.com is a database for filling entry-level jobs.
- www.hireability.com specializes in IT recruitment.
- www.6figure.com is a Web site for recruiting senior professionals making $100,000 plus per year.
