Staples, Campuscareercenter.com, and Lauren Mackler and Associates Announce the 1st Annual Job Hunting 101: From College To Career Workshop for College Students and New Grads
CAMBRIDGE, MA (April 9, 2003) Saturday, May 10, the 1st Annual Staples Job Hunting 101: From College To Career Workshop will be held at Staples Headquarters in Framingham, MA. Job Hunting 101 is an interactive workshop to help college students find a job in which they can use their talents, skills, education, and passion to create a fulfilling and rewarding career. Job Hunting 101 has been created in large part due to the request of college students and parents to prepare for the formidable challenges presented by the current employment marketplace.
In Job Hunting 101, students will learn to master the challenges of transitioning from college to the workplace. The event will focus on important issues and strategies such as identifying effective ways to differentiate themselves from the competition, gaining greater understanding of their strengths, values, and passions, as well as all aspects of an effective self-marketing plan including: resumes and cover letters; telephone communications; body language and dress; identifying target industries and companies, and effective networking, interviewing and negotiation skills.
The workshop will be led by Lauren L. Mackler, a well-known and respected personal coach and corporate consultant. All attendees will receive a copy of Campuscareercenter's the Job Hunting Guide, a 273-page book created by Campuscareercenter.com in collaboration with authors Ron and Caryl Krannich.
Members of the Staples university recruiting team, including Michael Danubio, College Relations Manager, will participate in a panel discussion which will be focused on giving attendees information on what Staples look for in candidates, how their program works, what opportunities are available within Staples for new grads, and a Q & A session.
Due to the size of the event hall, capacity is limited to the first 150 attendees. The cost of the workshop is $150 per attendee and includes lunch. Parents and students can download the registration form at: http://www.campuscareercenter.com/students/LMWorkshop.pdf
