CampusRN conducts employment survey of nursing/allied health students and new graduates to assist health care recruiters
Cambridge, MA (October 23, 2003) CampusRN (www.CampusRN.com) the website focused exclusively on connecting hospitals and other health organizations with entry-level talent, announced the results of it's employment survey today.
Matt Casey, CEO of CampusRN said, "We are very pleased that almost 20% of our 10,000 members participated in this survey. With the shortage in young nursing and allied/health talent, it is crucial for employers to know as much as possible about students and new grads, how they are approaching their career exploration process and what is important to them."
Over 1700 candidates participated in the survey. In order of importance in selecting a job students selected salary, followed by benefits, location, hours/schedule, and reputation of employer. 57% of the candidates responded that email is the preferred method for a potential recruiter to initially contact them. 71% of the candidates said that Internet was a primary tool for finding out about internship/job opportunities. Over 85% of the candidates said that they will have little or no difficulty in finding a full-time position immediately after graduation.
For full results of the survey, health care recruiters can go to http://www.campusrn.com/register/employer_1.asp and register for a free copy of the survey, which will be sent by email.
Casey added, " It was interesting to learn that while only 22% of candidates are proactively applying to jobs/internships on the Internet, over 55% said that would be very likely to respond to employers that contacted them with an opportunity. It shows that these candidates are open-minded but realize they are in great demand and expect employers to be proactive in the recruitment process. CampusRN.com has been created with this in mind-- it is really not a job posting site, but a network which enables employers to easily find, communicate and hire entry-level nursing/allied health care candidates."
