CampusRN/AACN Partner to Launch Customized Career Centers Connecting Nursing Students and Employers

Cambridge, MA (January 18, 2004) With the nationwide nursing shortage growing more acute by the day, hospitals across the country are focused on recruiting the next generation of nursing and allied health care talent. CampusRN (www.campusRN.com) has introduced a new service to help connect hospital employers with students, new graduates and experienced candidates continuing their education. In partnership with the American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN), CampusRN has launched UniversityConnect, an online application that enables nursing schools nationwide to seamlessly offer customized online career centers, leveraging the content, technology and employer network of CampusRN. Large nursing programs at the University of Kansas (http://kumc.campusrn.com) , Johns Hopkins University (http://jhmi.campusrn.com) and smaller programs such as Carlow College (http://carlow.campusrn.com) are among nursing schools that have chosen CampusRN to power their virtual employment center.

CampusRN, which already has developed the job and internship channel on the AACN site (http://aacn.campusRN.com), has agreed to power the online job boards/career centers of the 572 AACN member institutions, free of charge. Robert Rosseter, Director of Public Affairs for the AACN, stated, "Our partnership with CampusRN enable the AACN and our member institutions to offer their students the best available tools to conduct a thorough career exploration process. Now more than ever, nursing and other health care candidates are in demand and we want to ensure that they have information to make it as easy as possible to determine the best possible career path."

CampusRN will design, host and maintain customized online career centers for any institution that seeks to add a cutting-edge, turnkey resource for its students and alumni. Students registering for and utilizing their online school career center will also automatically be registered for use of the more nationally focused AACN employment site.

Matt Casey, CEO of CampusRN, said "Between CampusRN.com, the site we power for the AACN, and the customized sites we are building for many of the nation's top nursing programs, we are offering a powerful network for employers to bring essential new health care talent into their organizations. UniversityConnect will enable hospitals to target specific schools, and the AACN site and the centralized national CampusRN resume database and communications tools will enable employers to hire find contact and hire candidates nationally."

CampusRN.com is the most comprehensive site of its kind for entry-level nursing students and allied health job seekers. Through this online service, students can view current job openings, access competitive research on employers, and compare various career options within their field. Employers have the opportunity to reach nursing students directly with current openings, even before they graduate. CampusRN.com is a subsidiary of CampusCareerCenter.com (CCC), the world's leading campus recruiting company.
