St. Luke's Health System

Founded as a six-bed frontier hospital in 1902, St. Luke’s has evolved to become Idaho’s largest healthcare provider. Today St. Luke’s is the only locally governed, Idaho-based, not-for-profit health system, with a network of seven full service medical centers, the state’s only Children’s Hospital, and more than 70 outpatient centers and clinics serving people throughout southern Idaho, eastern Oregon, and northern Nevada. St. Luke’s is home to the state’s first Magnet Hospitals, recognized for nursing excellence, and is the region’s leader in heart, cancer, women’s, and children’s services.

St. Luke’s more than 10,000 employees, 1,000-member medical staff, and 850 volunteers are committed to delivering the highest quality care to those in medical need, regardless of their ability to pay. With a mission “To improve the health of people in our region,” St. Luke’s provided nearly $350 million (including capital) in community benefit in 2012. The hospitals of St. Luke’s have earned numerous national awards and recognition for excellence in patient care.

St. Luke’s major facilities include St. Luke’s Boise Medical Center, our downtown Boise tertiary medical center; St. Luke’s Magic Valley Medical Center, serving rural and growing communities in south central Idaho; St. Luke’s Meridian Medical Center, a community hospital in the rapidly growing city of Meridian; St. Luke’s McCall Medical Center, a community hospital in the central Idaho mountains; St. Luke’s Wood River Medical Center, a critical-access hospital in the Sun Valley area; St. Luke's Jerome and St. Luke’s Elmore, small, rural critical access hospitals; St. Luke’s Children’s Hospital in Boise, home to more than 120 pediatric specialists; St. Luke’s Eagle, providing urgent care and a variety of other health care services to the west Treasure Valley; St. Luke’s Nampa, with a free-standing emergency department and physician clinics; and St. Luke’s Mountain States Tumor Institute (MSTI), one of the Northwest’s most respected cancer care centers.
