Job Function

The Heart and Vascular Service Line Administrator plans, directs and coordinates all functions that relate to heart and vascular services at Texas Health Resources wholly owned hospitals. This individual works across organizational lines and is tasked with appropriate growth of the service line and market share. The Service Line Administrator is responsible for Heart and Vascular Governance Council and Committee meetings (H&VGC/C), annual planning and reporting, as well as integration of the service line strategy with the overall organizational strategy. The essential functions of this position include integration of the Heart and Vascular Service Line with THR Strategic Plan, improvement of patient quality, safety and outcomes; plan, purchase and implement innovative technology; identify and support the advancement of translational research initiatives.

The ideal candidate will possess the following:
•Master’s degree in health care or business administration is required.
•Licensed and board-certified physicians and/or DNP’s are encouraged to apply.
•Must be an experienced executive of a mature health care business who has attained superior results in competitive and/or difficult reimbursement markets.
•Ten years of relevant health care leadership experience, nationally ranked program referred; prior experience running a cardiovascular service line at a system level is required.
•Possess proven ability to develop research, clinical trials and related infrastructure; encourage the development and procurement of grants, sponsored research, and philanthropy.
•A high energy level and ability to respond to the challenges of managing a service line in a highly competitive market.
•Is a strong leader who is a facilitator and builder, with strong comfort level with physician relations. Seeks physicians’ input and values their ideas, yet is able to meet their needs without compromising other system and service line goals.
