Qualifications:/Duties
Texas Health Denton seeks a full time LIS adminstrator. The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS / Requirements:

Bachelors degree in Information Technology or clinical specialty required.
MLT(ASCP) with bachelor or MT(ASCP) with bachelor
Must have the ability to communicate with all levels of ITS clients, clinical staff and physicians
6 years or more application support experience

Preferred Requirements:

Masters degree in Information Technology or clinical specialty preferred
MT(ASCP) with specialty certification
Advanced word processing including advance MS Word (tables ability), Excel, Access and Power Point
6 years or more application support experience, preferably in a hospital environment

Position:

Primary responsibilities for this position are listed as follows, but are not limited to:

Plans for and validates new instrument installations into the laboratory automation and middleware software.
Evaluates statistical startup data, reference intervals, and equipment.
Writes/revises technical procedures for Automation, middleware, and instrument interfaces.
Trains personnel on laboratory automation, middleware and Lab Information System (LIS).
Assists with administration of competency testing.
Acts as a technical resource for automation, middleware and LIS.
Performs special assignments as assigned or requested.
Makes recommendations for LIS database changes.
Acts as an EPIC/Cerner liaison for THP hospital staff.
Writes reports and analyzes data from the Middleware and LIS.
Takes appropriate action to improve quality, workflow, or productivity.
Assists technologists with complex issues and troubleshooting.
Maintains the LIS data base by making necessary changes, assisting with building new procedures and assure that the system(s) are working from ordering to reporting.
Investigates and troubleshoots all computer related complaints and problems
Provides technical support in all areas in instrument interfacing
Performs necessary audits including those required by accrediting agencies
Trains department and other system hospital entities personnel in LIS applications
Manages projects requiring integration of the LIS applications.
Plans, tests, and documents system accuracy during software upgrades
Complies with patient safety goals.
Follows hospital / department policies for patient and employee safety.
Keeps work area physically clean, organized and free of safety hazards.

Hours:

Full Time, 1st shift, Mon-Fri., 8 AM - 5 PM
