PRN: This position is as needed
Flexible work schedule either days or nights; some weekends, 8 or 12 hour shifts as needed.

Minimum Education Requirements:
High School Graduate or G.E.D.

Minimum Experience Requirements:
1 year experience in EEG testing

Minimum Skill Requirements:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Proficient in MS Windows

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

EEG Testing: Perform EEG Tests as appropriate and is expected to know correct recording electrode as well as appropriate sites. Able to differentiate between electrode artifact and true abnormal brain wave activity. Patient assessment to be done to assure diagnostic testing is relevant to patient care needs.

Long term Epilepsy Monitoring (Routine): Perform LTEM testing as appropriate and is expected to know correct recording electrode as well as their appropriate sites. Able to edit and archive LTEM. patient assessment done to assure diagnostic testing is relevant to patient care needs.

24 hour AEEG Testing: Able to perform 24 hour AEEG recordings on inpatients and outpatients by accurately placing recording electrodes to patient's head and chest as well as assuring ambulatory recorder is operating correctly. Able to print and scan 24 hour record denoting significant data. Patient assessment will be done to assure diagnostic testing is relevant to patient care needs.

Patient and family education: Able to provide relevant and accurate patient and family education.
Verify accurate physician orders for testing.

Safe and accurate use of methods as well as application of devices and equipment that are required to test patients including standard precautions.

Correct patient identification by procedure.

Communicate safely, accurately, timely, and effectively with MDs, RNs, peers, and other staff.

Appropriate and timely communicate with supervisors, managers, and chain of command as necessary to meet clinical needs of all patients.

Complete CI procedures related to tasks, including reporting adverse events, obtaining new orders and correcting deficiencies.

Identify adverse reactions to testing and emergency measures initiated as necessary.

Complete assessments timely and accurate.

Age differences specific to each of the basic test are accurately applied, assessed, utilized, and communicated.

Performs hand hygiene 100% of the time when providing patient care. Reminds team members to perform hand hygiene as needed.

Uses two patient identifiers before performing any procedure on a patient.

Perform other duties as assigned
