Texas Health Harris Methodist Southwest Fort Worth is a 229-bed facility located near Mira Vista and four college preparatory private schools opened its doors in 1987 to give Southwest Tarrant County access to a finer grade of health care close to home.

The hospital offers comprehensive acute-care services, 24-hour emergency services, advanced technology, a progressive rehabilitation program, surgical services and traditional and progressive options in maternity care. Texas Health Southwest Fort Worth continually ranks among the area's preferred facilities to deliver babies, according to Fort Worth Child magazine.

The Surgical Services department within Texas Health Harris Methodist Southwest Hospital consists of 8 operating suites. Our surgical department supports over 5,000 cases annually with a focus on Robotics, and advanced laparoscopic procedures. There are specific Clinical Resource RNs for all specialties assisting in the day to day operational issues and a PeriAnesthesia Manager cohort.

As Manager of Surgical Services, you will be responsible for the direction of patient care in the operative environment. This position will report directly to the Director of Perioperative Services. The incumbent must demonstrate collaboration with surgical medical leadership as well as staff within the other Perioperative and nursing units. This position oversees the day to day management of a staff of 45 + FTEs and will build and maintain the operational and capital budget within established guidelines.

The ideal candidate must have demonstrated experience in developing and maintaining strong physician and staff relationships and proven experiences in leadership of surgical turnover. Must possess an attitude that fosters a positive cultural environment built around trust, respect and establishment of a safe environment.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

Graduate of an accredited school of registered nursing.
Bachelor’s Degree or actively pursuing within 6 months of being hired
5 years clinical nursing experience in an Operating Room
Must possess and maintain a valid RN license that allows practice in the state of Texas
2 years experience in an increasingly responsible leadership position in an Operating Room with documented success.
Previous surgical management experience required.
Experience with Microsoft WORD and Excel
The Ideal candidate will be actively involved with key professional national organizations.
CNOR preferred or must be obtained within one year of hire
Documented experience with identifying/implementing operational efficiency and process improvement with patient throughout.

Documented experience developing and implementing processes to enhance perioperative operations and practices for ongoing quality improvement.

Documented experience mentoring, teaching, and training perioperative staff to assume leadership roles.

Superior interpersonal communication, problem solving, verbal, written, and time management. Keen ability to multi-task and delegate effectively under stress.

Entity Information Schedule/Hours: 6:30 am – 3:00 pm
Flexible Hours dependent on staffing/OR schedule requirements
