Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science or Management Information Systems is required.

Healthcare Information Systems experience is preferred.

3+ years directly-related experience as an Oracle Applications Developer is required.

5+ years directly-related experience with Relational Databases (ie: Oracle, SQL Server or DB2) is required.

Knowledge of Data Warehousing techniques for 3NF and dimensional models is required.

Experience with star schema data warehouse and business modeling techniques are preferable.

Will be designing and developing stored procedures, complex views, database triggers, complex SQL queries and PL/SQL programming.

Tune and recode complex SQL queries to ensure they are optimized for reporting environment.

Responsible for the design and architecture of enterprise-wide data warehouse and data marts utilizing Oracle.


New Development:

Design and develop stored procedures, complex views, database triggers, complex SQL queries and PL/SQL programming.

Tune and recode complex SQL queries to ensure they are optimized for reporting environment.

Develop ER Diagrams and logical and physical Data Models.

Responsible for the design and architecture of enterprise-wide data warehouse and data marts utilizing Oracle.

Design and specify source data detection and extraction processes.

Define and capture metadata and rules associated with Business processes.

Modify Model to accommodate source system changes with new business user requirements.

Determine the optimal approach for obtaining data from diverse source system platforms and moving it to the data warehouse.

Produces accurate code consistent with the design done while mentoring/assisting others. This includes adhering to programming and subsystem standards, properly structured programming techniques, well documented internally and externally, and free form code, data and documentation side effects.

Developing complete and accurate structured system acceptance test plans.

Executes testing and documents the results.

Developing and implementing installation plans.
Developing/updating appropriate Service Desk documentation for changes.

Support and Maintenance of Assigned Systems:

Demonstrates thorough understanding of data warehousing design, building, middleware components, metadata, data source, and data target networking in a multiple-platform environment.

Ensures the infrastructure components are used consistently to facilitate effective development of Data Warehouse processes and intuitive user deliverables considering end-user reporting.

Performs routine support of assigned systems.

Solves system problems and issues in a timely and accurate manner.

Is responsive to customer issues.

Communicates with customer, project team and vendors in a timely manner.

Support and maintain the development ,test and production Data Warehouse environment.

Coordinates program and/or data moves from development to test/education and production regions.

Review Knowledge Base Documentation periodically, updating as needed.

Defining business/maintenance problems or changes and developing conceptual solutions to solve these.

Designs, builds, and maintains data stores including Epic Clarity used to support business reporting and analysis while preserving consistency, intuitive usage, quality data, and timely availability.

Demonstrates leadership by assisting both technological and business communities with data store utilization.

Identify, develop and document detailed data requirements and detailed specifications through the Data Warehouse life cycle integrating with existing data warehouse environment.

Translate abstract user requirements into well defined, structured business rules / specifications, data models including Use Cases, DDS and conceptual/businessw data model.

Experience analyzing source systems and perform data mapping between disparate databases / data sources and do gap analysis working with production data to validate business requirements.

Population Data Warehouse using data modeling techniques for target structures such as Star Schemas, Snowflake Schemas, and highly normalized data models.

Strong ability to develop complex logical data models, data architecture standards.

Perform detailed analysis including data quality and consistency by monitoring production data.

Create Meta data documentation (Business Glossary and data definitions) for enterprise Master Data Management.

Review design documents to verify they correctly load data; meet our standards and best practices, and meets business requirements.

Analyze and develop strategies for data acquisitions, archives, recovery, and implementation of a database on an enterprise level.

Keep track of production ETL loads, identify SLA issues and inefficient jobs, help production support team tune inefficient ETL and SQL code.

Develop and determine the optimal approach for presenting data to different audiences.

Develops detailed, accurate, complete, cost-effective and resource-conservative design solutions that clearly integrate with existing products and provide an easy path for future enhancements, by examining all possible courses of action and displaying sound logic and reasoning to arrive at an optimum solution.

Identifies major development objectives.

Describes system assumptions and constraints.

Specifies user-oriented system requirements.

Identifies major hardware and software components.

Describes key files and data elements including descriptions, purpose, usage and validation rules for these.

Identifies in detail, input and output specifications, including input sources), output media, retention requirements, screen and report layouts.

Defines program-to-program and system-to-system flows.

Defines necessary system controls including error detection and correction procedures, security and privacy specifications and auditing provisions.

Includes volume estimates to project the overall impact on the computer system.

Evaluate potential data sources to the data warehouse environment through data and technological reviews.

Interview end-users to determine requirements for data, reports, analyses, metadata, training, service levels, data quality and performance.

Develop processes for capturing and maintaining metadata from all data warehouse components.

Works with users to identify appropriate algorithms in order to ensure business-rule based data validation and correction to anomalies.

Adapt ETL processes to accommodate changes in source systems and new business user requirements.

Coordinate with program-level ETL Architect to ensure compliance with standards and consistency with long-term infrastructure plans.

Develop monitoring plan to ensure data has been refreshed / updated as expected.

Search for causes of incompatibility between the warehousing environment and other systems.

Install new software patches and upgrades.

Design, build, and maintain data management processes that promote data quality through exception reporting, data standardization and calculation, and business rule validation. Reports findings through both ISD management and customer data stewards.

Work with production data to monitor and report on data conditions and quality.

Shares work experiences and expertise with other. Provides technical guidance and/or business knowledge and direction to project team members.

Comprehensive knowledge of the Data Warehouse environment - includes knowledge that will allow THR to move a true data warehouse environment utilizing multiple source systems and their integration points.

Knowledge of Data Warehouse concepts, technologies, and best business practices to include data modeling, data sourcing, data transformation, data loading, data cleansing, data integrity checking, and end-user tools.

Drive data architecture / data modeling for data warehouse / data mart.

Deep knowledge of data modeling techniques for 3NF, dimensional models and/or generic data modeling components, or dimensional-normal form.

Knowledge, understanding, and experience implementing the design models as published by Ralph Kimball and Bill Inmon.

Experience with Star Schema data warehouse and business process modeling techniques.

Business and technical metadata management.

Develop and maintain standards, common processes and best practices for data warehouse architecture.

Demonstrates knowledge of multiple systems and their integration.

Strives to improve business knowledge.

Monitors industry trends for applicability, evaluating software and related technologies for recommendations.

Participates in THR Educational opportunities and create career development plans.
