Texas Health Kaufman seeks Radiology Manager. Ideal candidate will possess the following qualities:

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS / Requirements:

Associate’s Degree
2 years management experience specific to hospital environment
Certified Medical Radiology Technology by the Texas State of Health Services
Current ARRT registration Required

Position:

This position will be responsible for the day to day supervision and management of the patient care, business administration and regulatory requirements of the Radiology department that includes CT, MRI, US, Cardiac Stress and Echocardiography, Nuclear Med, Bone Densitometry, Surgical, Radiography and Diagnostic Radiography.

Primary responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

Administrative Management of Radiology Department

• Department organization including modality scheduling / staffing
• Regulatory requirements
• Department invoice processing, payroll entry and inventory control, employee supervision and evaluation, and fiscal budget planning / implementation
• PACS and RIS administration and maintenance
• Department / physician relations liaison
• COPIC committee representative

Patient Care and Customer Treatment

• Anticipates and accommodates needs of patients, families, physicians and co-workers
• Educates patient and family through instruction, demonstration or providing appropriate literature about exams and after exam care
• Maintains a safe environment by seeking out and correcting safety issues in the department and the hospital
Clinical Competency
• Demonstrates knowledge of equipment, hospital Codes and Disaster Drills and appropriate policies and procedures
• Participates with equipment and product service maintenance and evaluations, identifies problems and oversees repairs
• Performs active departmental rounds and room checks and oversees stocking and re-ordering of necessary departmental supplies

Modality Specific Technical Skills

• Observes ALARA and uses protection on self and others exposed during procedures that use ionizing radiation
• Demonstrates knowledge and skill in positioning and technique and appropriately and correctly labels, send, and store images in PACS for different modalities
• Appropriately and correctly performs RIS scheduling, data entry, patient tracking / reporting, editing / archival, management utility functions and documents patient information in logbooks, notes in PACS, patient charts and on exam requisitions
• Demonstrates knowledge of exam preps and is able to communicate to other healthcare workers, patients, families and physicians
• Demonstrates knowledge of radioisotopes and is able to order isotopes and explain process to others

Hours:

Responsible for 24 hour coverage of department
