Job Function

This individual will function as the system leader overseeing the integration and alignment of Integrated Disability Management activities to strengthen and advance the systemness of Texas Health Resources. The incumbent has direct management oversight responsibility and authority for system IDM functions including disability, workerís compensation, leaves, fitness for duty, return to work, drug free workplace, employee safety, system services employee health and Helping Hands for THRís wholly-owned entities.

Direct all functions and staff of the Integrated Disability Management Department including disability, workerís compensation, leaves, fitness for duty, return to work, drug free workplace, employee safety, employee health and Helping Hands.

Develop programs using data analysis, benchmarking, employee feedback and cost considerations to leverage cost improvement and productivity improvement. Ensure IDM/EHS programs, processes and action plans, are designed to promote the THR Promise and system-wide implementation while maintaining compliance with Federal and state regulatory requirements and goals.

Advance a culture of safety across the system by deploying and continually reviewing tools and resources for Safe Workplace including safety training, injury tracking tool to identify and solve safety issues, workplace violence prevention/reaction procedures as well as frequent and creative communications to spread the news about safety prevention.

Serve as Resource and/or SME for IDM staff, HR, EHS, managers, leadership, employees, and vendors, etc. Provide reporting on topics related to leaves of absence, workplace injury/illness, employee safety, fitness for duty, etc. based upon knowledge of statutory requirements and THR policies, best practices and/or data/benchmarks. Provide resources and education for access to LOA, WC, Helping Hands, fitness for duty, transitional duty to facilitate consistent processes system-wide.
Min. Education required: Bachelorís Degree
Min. Experience required: 5 years management with emphasis on planning, development, and operations background of disability, leaves and workerís comp with personnel management.
Working knowledge of software programs such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint and specialized occupational/EHS management software. Ability to execute verbal and written communication effectively in small and large groups and the ability to develop and maintain successful customer relations skills. Must be able to utilize current available technology for efficient and effective communication. Requires critical thinking and the ability to problem solve.
