Texas Health Resources has an immediate need for a Communications Specialist. The Project Specialist will provide consultation, develop and implement communications strategy aimed at achieving organizational KPIs and THRís strategic plan through system-level communication programs.

Develops and implements communications strategies to support system initiatives and new entities and business units launched by Texas Health. Serves as communications consultant and strategist to all THR departments and non-wholly owned units.

Participate in the annual Texas Health communications planning process, contributing toward development of goals, budgets and messages.

Track progress toward goals and provide reports to management on a regular basis.

Engage in and implement findings from research to continuously improve communication methods and meet organizational goals.

Develops mechanisms to monitor, evaluate communications, benchmarking

Research, write, edit, proofread, fact-check, obtain appropriate approvals and coordinate production of a variety of communications and content that reach internal stakeholders throughout the Texas Health system meeting communications goals and objectives within established time and budget constraints.

Develops communication tools to help entities rollout system initiatives

Oversees and manages relationships with System Services divisions. Serves as Sr. Communications Specialist for System Services

Minimum Requirements:
Bachelorís degree in communications, public relations, business strategy or related field

7 years in communications, health care preferred

Strong presentation skills, strong writer, ability to think on feet and make decisions quickly, creative communications skills, strategy development experience, Can interact confidently with executive leadership making recommendations and offering alternatives. Must be able to handle confidential information and work with little supervision. Must be able to develop creative concepts and tools and effectively execute a communications plan.
