Qualifications:/Duties
Texas Health Plano seeks Ultrasonographer I PRN. The ideal candidates will possess the following qualifications:

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS / Requirements:

Graduate of a CAAHEP and/or AMA approved ultrasound program

New graduates welcomed

Certifications Required:
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (CPR),
• RDMS Abdomen (AB) or Obstetrics and Gynecology (OB/GYN) registry within 1 year of hire
• RVT Vascular Technology (VT) registry

Note: New sonographers possessing a valid RDMS (AB) or (OB/GYN) registry will have 1 year from date of hire to obtain RVT Registry. New graduates or unregistered sonographers will be allowed a second year in which to obtain RVT Registry.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, self –directed and independent

Position:

Primary responsibilities are as follows, but are not limited to:

Patient Care:

• Maintains patient safety
• Assess level of patient care and identifies and validates exam

Imaging Procedures, Quality and Processing:

• Manages daily workload and ensures image quality
• Knowledge of PACs, HIS, RIS
• Maintains confidentiality, privacy and complies with HIPAA guidelines

Equipment Operation and Maintenance:

• Follows infection control guidelines
• Maintains equipment
• Demonstrates knowledge of quality control

Continuous improvements:

• Identify and troubleshoot workflow processes
• Participates in quality improvement processes
• Promotes customer satisfaction and patient safety
• Performs all duties in compliance with HIPAA, JCAHO, hospital and department standards / policies

Hours:

PRN based upon staffing needs of the department
