Graduate of AMA approved Respiratory Care Program.

State of Texas RCP license, Current RRT credential and BLS.

Computer, typing, strong medical terminology, critical thinking and time management.

HOURS: Day shift 7a-7p rotating weekends.

Education: Maintains credentialing requirements timely as required by Texas State Law. Completes requiared educational classes assigned by education department in a timely manner. Possess the ability to educate patients and their families as well as other health care members. Employees to attend 4 mandatory department meetings/year, minimum. Provide patient and family education on procedures and illnesses.

Basic respiratory therapy skills including: Oxygen and aerosol therapy, bronchodilator therapy, volume therapy, breathing exercises, patient monitoring devices and techniques, smoking cessations, peak flow and FVC monitoring.

Advanced Respiratory Therapy skills include CPAP/BiPAP ventilation, all modes of adult ventilation, weaning from ventilators, transport of ventilated patients. Assist with intubations and bronchoscopies, rapid response and code blue. Bedside montoring devices, airway care.

Attendance. Staffing, scheduling, timeliness, availability and work contributions appropriate for FT or PT status.
