Part-Time Days Job Summary: Responsible for providing Medical Nutrition Therapy and Diabetes Education services to patients in individual and group settings. Referral bases are Endocrinology practice based in same office location and primary care providers in the Greater Saratoga region. Medical Nutrition Therapy constitutes majority of referrals. Practitioner will be encouraged to practice to full extent of CDE credential, including working with insulin pumps, continuous glucose monitoring systems and glucometer training.
Qualifications: Bachelor of Science degree in Dietetics or Foods & Nutrition. Advanced degree in related field (Nutrition, Public Health, Business Administration) preferred. At least three years experience in outpatient nutrition setting working with individuals and groups.Registration with The Commission on Dietetic Registration (RD) required;Certification as a Dietitian-Nutritionist (CDN) with New York State Department of Education required;Certification as Certified Diabetes Educator (CDE) through The National Certification Board for Diabetes Educators required;Membership in The American Dietetic Association and/or The American Association of Diabetes Educators strongly preferred. Must hold valid NYS driver's license.
