Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant

Contingent Flexible Variable Master's Degree The Cardiovascular/Thoracic Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant is responsible for providing clinical support services to the patients of the Cardiovascular/Thoracic service line. Support will encompass clinical activities in our Critical Care units, Step-Down units and Medical/Surgical patient floors. Skills will encompass a broad range of cognitive and technical clinical skills, collaborative teamwork, educational activities and documentation requirements. Skills require clinical judgment in diagnosing and managing patients with cardiovascular/thoracic diseases or procedures.

Minimum Requirements:

1.) Must have completed a Master's Degree Program in nursing and national certification leading to certification by the State Board of Nursing as a Nurse Practitioner or must have completed a Physician Assistant (PA) Education Program and be certified by the National Commission on Certification of PAs.

2.) Current State of Michigan Registered Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant license.

3.) Current ACLS certification.

4.) Previous NP or PA experience in cardiac services preferred.

5.) Cardiovascular experience is preferred or strong experience in either Critical Care or Emergency is required.
