Technical Director

Role Summary/Purpose The Technical Director will be responsible for providing technical expertise to railroad employees and management as well as GE employees, including troubleshooting, material handling, tooling, safety procedures, and contract requirement clarification. In this role, you will provide training / mentorship to railroad and GE employees, and coordinate and provide instruction on key programs and procedures, such as overhauls and Field Modification Instructions (FMIs).
# Essential Responsibilities Provide clear communication to railroad employees, customer management and GE management on work to be performed, locomotive status, productivity, and process improvements
# Liaison with Engineering and Remote Monitoring and Diagnostics
# Work with railroad employees and management to promote, maintain, and drive continuous improvement in safe work practices while monitoring productivity, quality assurance, and adherence to contract requirements
# Ensure compliance with all FRA regulations, OSHA work practices and industry / site specific work rules
# Make risk assessments balancing customer requests with GE requirements
# Establish production plan for labor, material, and logistics
# Work with various software systems to manage material, labor plans, and other systemic requirements
# Qualifications/Requirements Bachelorís degree in a technical discipline from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma/GED with at least 4 years of operations or military experience, or Associateís degree in technical discipline with at least 2 years professional work experience)
# At least 3 additional years of operations or engineering experience

# Willing to work various shifts various days

# Ability to work in shop environment
