Tax Reporting Leader - Domestic

Role Summary/Purpose This individual will have ultimate responsibility for Domestic Tax Reporting at GE Real Estate, reporting into the Global Manager of Tax Operations. This individual will also manage a direct team of 2-3 resources in North America, and supervise a team of outsourced consultants.
Essential Responsibilities - Oversees domestic tax account reconciliations for GE Real Estate ("RE"), including coordinating with CAS in connection with audits of such reconciliations
- Reviews US deferred tax asset and deferred tax liability balances with Director of Global Tax Operations
- Prepares the US domestic federal and state ETR reconciliation for RE
- Prepares the US domestic tax submissions for FP&A planning purposes
- Oversee process for proper identification of tax mark-to-market and FAS 133
- Supervises documenting and supporting all significant financial accounting positions taken with respect to any tax accounts
- Responsible for accuracy of US domestic tax provision processing
- Coordinate with Tax Compliance Leader to oversee annual return to accrual process and tax return settlement
- Oversee US domestic tax compliance processes, manage US tax return preparation process in conjunction with Tax Compliance Leader
- Assists in preparing periodic reports (e.g., quarterly ETR walks, unusual item reports, KPMG quarterly disclosures, etc.)
- Assist in the implementation and control of IT systems, digitized processes, and outsourcing of tax functions
- Assist the Director of Global Tax operations in reviewing the accounting consequences of tax planning activities, functional currency matters and performing certain aspects of transactional support.
Qualifications/Requirements YOU MUST BE ABLE TO SATISFY THE REQUIREMENTS OF SECTION 19 OF THE FEDERAL DEPOSIT INSURANCE ACT.
- Bachelor's Degree in Business or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 7 years experience with Tax Department of US accounting firm or US multinational company.
- Strong knowledge of US tax rules
- Extensive experience with tax accounting principles (FIN 48 and FAS 109) and SOX 404

- You must have the ability to travel up to 10%.

Desired Characteristics - Masters in Business Administration (MBA) or Masters in Taxation.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred
- Knowledge of Oracle and Hyperion desired.
- Proven ability to design and execute large scale projects in a complex environment
- Excellent communication skills. Role will require effective collaboration with senior management, business teams, ES HQ tax and Corporate Tax
- Ability to leverage multiple functions in a complex matrixed organization
- Experience with financial accounting software
