File Room Clerk

Role Summary/Purpose In this role, the Scanning/File Room Clerk position will be primarily be responsible the scanning of documentation through various computer systems- but the individual will also participate in the fulfilling of requests for records from various departments and general office tasks.
Essential Responsibilities Responsibilities will include:

- Filing: Sorting and filing all the medical office charge tickets and EOB into groups according to specific criteria.
- Scanning: Scanning of medical notes into computer files
- Photocopying: Providing photocopies of requested records
- Follow company policies and procedures.
- Maintain acceptable work volume per day.
- Responsible to sort, follow up and track work flow.
- Organize and prioritize work items
- Show willingness to work toward departmental and organization wide objectives to insure quality results.
- Requires ability to process confidential data in professional manner
Qualifications/Requirements * This position is open to external and internal candidates
* Requires a high school diploma or equivalent
* General computer experience using Microsoft Word, Excel and email
* Basic math skills
* Ability to navigate through various computer programs
* Ability to file documents alphabetically
* Ability to follow written and verbal directions
* Experience meeting deadlines through applied time management and organization skills
* The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms, stand, walk and sit
* The employee must lift and/or move up to 30lbs
* You must be willing to take a drug test
* You must be willing to submit to a background investigation, including for example, verification of your past employment, criminal history, and educational background
* You must be legally authorized to work in the United States
* You must be willing to work out of the Wilbraham, MA office
* You must be available to work the required work shift and 40 hours/wk
Additional Eligibility Qualifications For U.S. employment opportunities, GE hires U.S. citizens, permanent residents, asylees, refugees, and temporary residents. Desired Characteristics * Previous experience with PHI/HIPPA regulations
* Previous experience scanning documents, preferably using Adobe 6.0
* Previous experience in a file room
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
* Organizational skills
* Self-starter with ability to learn quickly
* Desire to work in team environment
