Responsibilities
The National Security Agency is looking for Cost Analysts to develop life cycle cost estimates and analyses of acquisition programs. In this position, you will examine all of the resources necessary to develop, acquire, deploy or field, operate, maintain, and dispose of a system, in order to improve NSA's operations and efficiency.
- Cost Analysts prepare realistic life cycle cost estimates to support budget requirements and reviews. Other responsibilities include:
- Providing cost analysis and estimating support to independent studies, Analyses of Alternatives (AOA), economic analyses (EA), and program budget development
- Developing cost models, cost estimating processes, and cost risk assessment techniques
- Collecting data and developing cost estimating relationships (CERs)
- Analyzing and assessing cost estimates including technical data, cost estimating methods, ground rules, and assumptions submitted by program offices or contractors for completeness, consistency, and thoroughness
Qualifications
Candidates should possess:
- A bachelor's degree in Math, Statistics, Operations Research, Engineering, Information Technology, or Business with a math related focus, or related field is preferred
- The ability to work well independently on multiple projects on multiple projects simultaneously, using initiative, ingenuity, and judgement to meet milestones
- Effective communication skills, both orally and in writing, to work with individuals at various levels in presenting ideas, findings, and recommendations
- Advanced degrees, DAWIA certification, and experience in DoD acquisitions and cost estimating is desirable and will be used to determine salary range
- DAWIA certification is required within 24 months of being hired
U.S. Citizenship is required for all applicants. A security clearance must be granted prior to employment and you will be required to undergo extensive pre-employment processing. This includes: aptitude testing; an interview with a psychologist, a security interview conducted with the aid of a polygraph, and a personnel interview. The final stage of the processing will be the successful completion of a background investigation.
