Technician-Baseline

Responsibilities
This position requires driving approximately 80% to 90% of the time.

This position is responsible for performing competitive assessment of key cellular/PCS competitors using AMPS, CDMA, TDMA, and GSM technologies. This includes collecting baseline data; post processing data; generating plots and reports utilizing a standardized company reporting tool; and analyzing Comarco baseline data. Other responsibilities include conducting data collection with tools such as DataPro and assisting System Performance Engineers in analyzing the collected data for the purpose of improving system quality; working closely with System Performance Engineers to resolve customer complaints by performing specific data collection, Call Detail Record (CDR) search batch, drive testing, post processing, and plot/report generation; ensuring all test equipment is functional and calibrated on periodic basis, as well as making recommendations on future equipment configurations. Additional responsibilities include providing guidance and support to the Associate Technician – Baseline and performing all maintenance related to the Comarco equipment.
Qualifications
Associates or Technical degree required or equivalent special electronics training or equivalent work experience or relevant military experience.. Bachelor’s degree preferred.

·Minimum 1 year experience plus electronics training in one or more of the following fields: radio frequency, technical, and/or computer is required.
·Knowledge of the following technologies and/or platforms: wireless services including CDMA and AMPS. Knowledge of operating systems and applications: Comarco Baseline and workbench, Windows, MS office, UNIX, MapInfo, and DataPro is required.
·Demonstrated knowledge of RF propagation activities and RF field testing is required.
·Proficiency with data collection tools such as Comarco Baseline and DataPro is required.
·Demonstrated knowledge in developing and performing RF propagation test plans is required.
·Intermediate training in at least 3 of the following areas: data communications, digital communications, operating systems and applications, telecommunications, computer support, project management, and/or power are required.
·Strong analytic, presentation, written and oral communications skills is required.
·Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills are required.
·Ability to work well in a team environment is required.
·Ability to be self-motivated is required.
·Ability to work well independently is required.
·Ability to successfully handle multiple priorities simultaneously is required.
·Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Outlook is required.
·Ability to work extremely flexible hours is required.
·A valid driver’s license is required.
