Responsibilities

• Assist RF Engineer in developing the Verizon Wireless cellular network system.

• Conduct drive tests and collect field strength data.

• Analyze network coverage using RF predictive models.

• Produce plots and maps for new cell site search areas.

• Perform Cell Site Simulation Tests at potential cell site locations.

• monitor cell site configuration statistics for cellular network.

• Prepare system design change orders for processing changes to network.

• Perform antenna and coaxial cable test using Network Analyzer.

• Perform a full inventory on the microwave links in an effort to locate and file the path computations, via binders and computer files.

• Assist in preparation of FCC/FAA filings.

• Assist translation engineers in coordinating the switching activities of Verizon Wireless cellular network system.

• Review and trend daily processes in order to improve quality of switch translations.

• Assist in the formulation of a network map of all translation paths currently in place using AutoPace, NetPlan or equivalent programs.

• Schedule and test new cellular features and services.

may include driving to check equipment , status, and inventory. & other task as required to ensure high priority projects are completed on time.

• Maintain and update databases and documentation (e.g. facilities, cell site info., etc.) and build data base scenarios for system evaluation.

• Prepare daily status reports and distribute to management.

• Conduct network system usage/demand studies.

• Study and report on changes in cell site performance following hardware/software changes.

• Conduct ratio analysis to identify shifts in network system performance.

• Write macros/programs to improve/enhance evaluation times.

Qualifications

• Minimum Sophomore level standing with a minimum GPA of 3.25 in Computer Science or an Electrical Engineering program.

• An interest in communications, electromagnetics, probability and programming are preferred.

• Good awareness of cellular concepts and services.

• Well developed PC skills and knowledge of UNIX, DOS, and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Access, Powerpoint) applications are required.

• Self motivated individual that can work under minimal supervision and has the ability to work with a group as well as individually and is a team player.

• Excellent organizational skills.

• Extracurricular activities with leadership roles is required.

• Ability to investigate and implement alternate approaches to resolve difficult problems

• Some Overnight travel required

• Able to work flexible hours and support night or weekend work as needed

• • Valid driver’s license with a good driving record required.
