Job Description - Human Capital Analyst - Actuarial Consulting, Deloitte Consulting

Our Human Capital professionals deliver services designed to provide a unique 360 degree view of HR to help companies in their efforts to address all of their people touch points-from leadership and employees to customers and vendors. Ultimately, it is our mission to help companies enhance their value through people. We are part of the second largest HR consultancy in the world that includes more than 7,000 practitioners in 55 major offices globally, with a focus on both HR as a function and HR and people issues in business operations.

If you are beginning a career in management consulting and have an interest in the HR aspects of business, joining our Human Capital Analyst program could be your smartest move. Our Human Capital professionals focus on helping our clients in their efforts to integrate people performance with business strategy. Our consultants assist clients in all aspects of retaining, motivating, developing, compensating, and benefiting people, including consulting to organizations on ways to effectively deliver and operate the HR function and deal with HR and people issues within their business operations. New Analysts within Human Capital will have the opportunity work with some of the most highly regarded people anywhere and some of the world's most influential companies. You will have the opportunity to provide consulting services within the following areas:

Actuarial, Risk & Analytics
• Advanced Quantitative Services
• Life Actuarial and Insurance
• Property & Casualty Actuarial and Insurance
• Risk Management

Human Capital Analysts in these areas support teams in the delivery of services to clients to a variety of industries, developing broad HR and business consulting skills or specialized skills. Primary activities include concentrating on client project delivery and internal practice growth through researching and assessing effective industry practices and business trends, performing financial modeling and data analysis, pursuing relevant actuarial credentials, aiding in the creation of client presentations, and assisting in the development of sales proposals. With this much on the job training, our Human Capital Analysts learn the building blocks for a career in Human Capital consulting .



Requirements

To qualify for our Human Capital Analyst program, you should possess the following:

* Bachelor's or Master's degree with 3.2 or higher cumulative GPA strongly preferred
* Ability to learn, apply, and communicate actuarial concepts and ideas
* Superior research, analytical, and problem-solving skills
* Demonstrated capabilities in team work and leadership
* Effective listening skills and attention to detail
* Strong written and verbal communication skills
* Computer skills - Microsoft Office (Powerpoint, Word, Excel, Visio), online research, etc.


Qualifications

We are seeking candidates who have demonstrated exceptional performance in some of these and other related majors:

* Business
* Finance
* Economics

Strong candidates also will have demonstrated the following characteristics through their academic, volunteer, and other activities:

* A commitment to employee benefits, organizational effectiveness, compensation, health care, insurance, and/or risk management through classes/project work and/or a past summer internship or part-time job focusingon these or related subjects
* An interest in taking SOA or CAS actuarial exams, with at least one exam passed
* An ability to synthesize quantitative analysis and effectively relay this information to others
