Position Description
An entry level position in the Electromagnetic Effects Group, providing support for Boeing Military Derivative and Commercial Airplanes (E-4B, VC-25A, E-3A, E-6, AC-130U, 737-777 and others) and diverse projects. Assignments will deal with Nuclear Hardening, Electromagnetic Interference/Compatibility (EMI/C) Analysis, Emissions Security (EMSEC) Analysis, Antenna Coupling, Electrical Loads, Test Automation or testing for aircraft modifications. Employee will assist in developing and documenting requirements for various communication, sensor, electronic warfare and other electromagnetic systems and components. Performs basic analysis to predict component performance to established requirements. Conducts simple tests to validate performance of designs to requirements. Collects data on supplier and partner performance to ensure compliance to requirements. Provides support to products throughout their lifecycle. Supports project management by gathering project status data. Gathers information to support development of sections of proposals to support development of new business. Works under close supervision. Must possess good organizational, interpersonal, and problem solving skills. Prefer a strong work ethic and sense of urgency for completing assigned work with a history of meeting commitments. Ability to adjust priorities to multiple demands and unanticipated events.

Applies knowledge of planning, directing, conducting, and documenting electromagnetic environmental effects testing (such as electromagnetic compatibility, lightning, and static) as well as interpreting associated test results to validate and verify measurements. Ability to define test article. Knowledge of development, certification, qualification, quality assurance and acceptance testing of materials, products and processes including governing regulations, standards, and compliance requirements. Ability to apply electromagnetic theory to develop new measurement techniques and processes.
[ + ] Electromagnetic Theory
Basic knowledge of electromagnetic field, circuit theory, and wave propagation. Knowledge of interaction of electromagnetic waves with materials and geometries in a variety of mediums. Mediums include natural (such as rain, solar flares, dust, temperature) and man made environments (such as radar, broadcast stations, nuclear electromagnetic pulse). Ability to define electromagnetic fields using mathematical language to assess systems, sub-systems and component behavior.
Typical Education/Experience
Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
