Mechanical Systems Design & Analysis Engineer 1/2

Position Description

Perform detail design development, modification of mechanical and fluid system installations of large scale, complex mechanical systems with the understanding of thermal, vibration environment requirements to establish the system design. Assist in preparing technical documents for mechanical components and systems; and supporting proposal preparation and new business development efforts. Develop new designs and analysis using processes and tools to improve effectiveness, quality and efficiency of the development effort. Investigate emerging technologies to develop concepts usage for future product designs to meet projected requirements. Work under minimal direction in a very dynamic environment.

Typical Education/Experience

Level 1 - Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard. Level 2 - Degree and typical experience in engineering classification: Bachelor's and 2 or more years' experience or a Master's degree with experience. Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. Other Job related information

Prefer experience and skills in CAD - CATIA v5 & Enovia; mechanical systems and composite, airframe structures; desire to work on fixed wing aircraft for military and commercial applications; good understanding of stress analysis with the ability to review and make recommendations; able to work on large and small complex teams in a very dynamic environment; working experience within an Integrated Product Team (IPT); and a good record of meeting commitments and dead-lines. Experience consideration spans 2 levels to accommodate a broader spectrum of available work.
