Position Description

The Mission Operations/Command & Control Specialist plans and executes mission operations for command, control, communications, computing, intelligence, surveillance, and/or reconnaissance systems. Continuously monitors system performance and controls system elements by executing commands to change system configuration in order to achieve mission objectives. Manages, controls, and coordinates distributed resources (e.g., spacecraft, aircraft, transportation vehicles, etc.) and fixed ground assets (e.g., telemetry, tracking, and control stations and other ground elements required for computing and communications) to support government and commercial customers. Coordinates with management and engineering personnel to develop and maintain operational procedures and tools required to control the system. Analyzes technical data and verifies that system configurations are maintained according to operational requirements.

Typical Education/Experience

Level 2 - Degree and typical experience in engineering classification: Bachelor's and 2 or more years' experience or a Master's degree with experience. Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard. Level 3 - Degree and typical experience in engineering classification: Bachelor's and 5 or more years' experience, Master's degree with 3 or more years' experience or PhD degree with experience. Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Other Job related information

Position requires current SSBI/SCI security clearance. Prefer candidates with CI or Full-Scope Polygraph. Applicants MUST include their Security Clearance Level, Investigation Type and Investigation Date clearly on their resume. Position works 12 hour rotating shifts. Candidate must be willing to take and pass a polygraph.
