Position Description

A grade 2 software engineer is required in support of a contract award to Boeing, Dallas, Texas. The program is an advanced technologies program that will design, manufacture, integrate, test and deliver hardware and software. The successful candidate will have experience with the entire software development lifecycle with demonstrated proficiency in developing software using Java or other object oriented languages. Expertise with one or more of the following is highly desired: Information Assurance, Algorithm implementation, Modeling/Simulation, Software Architecture Design, GPGPU programming, OpenGL, Open System Architecture, Operator Machine Interface design/implementation, COTS software integration, UML 2.0, Rhapsody, Eclipse, Clearcase, Clearquest, DOORS, or J-Form Designer.

General knowledge of real-time software architecture and design methodologies. Ability to synthesize real-time software architectures and designs that meet real-time requirements, characteristics and constraints.

[ + ] Real-time Target Environment

General knowledge of real-time target environments, including processor and network architectures, communication protocols, simulation frameworks and electrical interfaces. Ability to build, integrate and troubleshoot software components.

Typical Education/Experience

Degree and typical experience in engineering classification: Bachelor's and 2 or more years' experience or a Master's degree with experience. Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Other Job related information

An ability to obtain a Top Secret Clearance with SSBI (pre-start) is required for this position. Applicants must be able to obtain program access. Filling this requisition is contingently based on the applicant's ability to obtain the required security clearance and program access. Security clearance upgrades and/or program access requests will be initiated after the applicant's acceptance of the contingent offer. Relocation to Dallas, Texas will not be authorized before appropriate access is granted. As a minimum, candidates must possess a BS degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related degree with significant software development experience.
