Senior Director of Nursing- Ambulatory Services
Pay Grade: AE
The Senior Director of Ambulatory Nursing collaborates with the Physician Vice President and Administrative Vice President for the Office of Johns Hopkins Physicians (OJHP), the Vice President for Johns Hopkins Nursing and other entity Chief Nursing Officers and Directors of Nursing in the development, implementation, and evaluation of nursing strategic plans, objectives, and standards in all Health System-wide ambulatory areas. The Senior Director leads, manages, and evaluates system and processes that support ambulatory nursing and allied health clinical practices. This position will serve beyond JHH ambulatory community to the JHU and LLC sites.
-Earned Doctorate in Nursing, or related field
-Master's degree from an accredited school of nursing.
Required Licensure, Certification, Etc.:
-Registered Nurse in the state of Maryland
-In-depth knowledge of nursing theory, practice, and administration to plan and evaluate nursing standards and practice.
-Expert verbal, non-verbal, and written communication skills.
-Advanced interpersonal skills necessary to provide effective leadership and collaboration within a multidisciplinary setting.
-Analytical ability necessary to oversee, direct, and evaluate objectives and operations of nursing programs; develop and administer sound policies , procedures, budgets, and standards; identify and respond to deficiencies; and initiate corrective actions to achieve desired results.
Work Experience:
-Advanced administrative skills at a level generally acquired through four to seven years of progressively responsible nursing administration experience.
Budget Responsibility:
-Accountable for the development and monitoring of the program budget. Assures cost-effective use of resources.
Authority/Decision Making Level:
-Authority to act and implement, and to recommend actions to others.
Supervisory Responsibility:
-Departmental, managerial, and supervisory staff.
