Position Summary
This position requires extensive experience in molecular biology, cell biology, immunology, and genetics. The position requires the ability to integrate these disciplines in performing laboratory experiments in animal models and in cell culture.

This position requires extensive experience in molecular biology techniques, analysis of genetic diversity and immunohistochemistry.
Required Skills/Knowledge
Additional skills required for this position are related to experimental muscle physiology techniques, including muscle function testing and analyses
Functional Accountabilities
Performs laboratory work
Perform routine and non-routine tests as directed and required by the specific research program.
Record and check results for completeness and accuracy.
Perform tasks that may require familiarity with a variety of techniques and equipment.
Assists with project planning
Assist with planning specific research procedures, coordinate schedules of test and procedures.
Develop and troubleshoot new techniques and ideas.
Propose alternative experimental procedures for consideration by the principal investigator.
Maintains records
Maintain a log of work performed, compile and help analyze data, prepare charts, graphs, and results of studies.
Maintain all required records, reports, statistics etc.
Maintain and update department policies regarding procedures, objectives, safety etc.
Maintains office and/or laboratory supplies and equipment
Assist in care and maintenance of equipment, supplies, and work area.
Set up, calibrate, clean and perform routine maintainence on specialized laboratory equipment.
May sterilize and clean glassware and dispose of specimens, media and other materials, using appropriate procedures.
Conduct literature searches and reviews and write reports
Comply information form journals, and suggests uses for new techniques to the principal investigator.
Attend courses, lectures and conferences to further knowledge of research and laboratory techniques.
Write grants and proposals.
Conduct of Research

Plan, conduct, and manage research projects within the federal and institutional regulations and policies under the direction of the principal investigator.
Responsible for appropriate use of research funds and resources.
