Nurse Practitioner

Full-Time 8:00 - 5:00 Days

SUMMARY: Functions in collaborative practice with physician(s) in a private office or hospital setting. Autonomously performs patient assessment, diagnosis, and intervention according to approved protocols. Provides coverage for physician(s) during periods of absence. Prescribes a variety of modalities to meet wellness and illness needs, up to and including continued hospital admission/discharge and prescriptive authority. Collaborates with the assigned team members to support and adjust plan of care and length of stay for patient care needs.

QUALIFICATIONS: Graduate of an approved accredited school of nursing; Masters of Science in Nursing required. Minimum two years pediatric nursing experience,( or 2 years experience as FNP,) in primary or hospital setting preferred. Current licensure to practice professional nursing in the state of Texas. Recognition from the State Board of Nurse Examiners as an Advanced Practice Nurse. Certification as a Pediatric or Family Practice Nurse Practitioner. Current certification in Basic Life Support. Current certification in Pediatric Advanced Life Support preferred.
