Nurse Practitioner- Acute Complex Care

Full Time (64-80) hrs pp 8-5 Day Shift Master's Degree Current CPR Certification Graduation from an accredited school of nursing Ohio Nurse Practitioner Certification 2-3 years experience required

The Nurse Practitioner (NP) is a registered nurse with an advanced education and professional training, specializing in the care of patients from birth to 21 years of age. The NP practices independently and/or in collaboration with the physician(s) in Complex Care Clinic, and in accordance with established protocols, to provide cost- effective, quality care that is individualized and developmentally appropriate. The NP performs physical assessments/ examinations; develops diagnosis orders, performs and interprets diagnostic tests/ procedures, and formulates, initiates, reinforces plans of care and/or treatments for resolution of the clinical problem(s) or to maintain health. The NP monitors and evaluates the plan of care, and makes revisions as needed, or initiates consultations/referrals when appropriate. The NP will participate independently and in collaboration with the physician to manage patients in an outpatient setting as well as inpatients. Inpatients are defined as those that have been admitted to the regular inpatient floor as well as those admitted to the neonatal intensive care unit and pediatric intensive care unit. The NP will assist in the management of patients with critical airways and tracheostomies. The NP will coordinate the care of patients with complex care needs, facilitate communication and treatment plan development in collaboration with both Complex Care physicians and other subspecialists and primary care physicians. The NP also plays a role in education, research, consultation, advocacy, and other leadership activities that are in conjunction with departmental and hospital goals.



REQUIRED: Master's Degree ? Nurse Practitioner Program, 2-3 years specializing in pediatrics or family practice, Certification as Nurse Practitioner in State of Ohio. Current certificate of Authority in the State of Ohio Professional certification within 3 years of hire
