PCS Radiology NP

The Department of Radiology is a 24 hour, seven day a week operation providing Imaging Services to adult and pediatric inpatients and outpatients. The department consists of Diagnostic Radiology, Interventional Radiology, Neuro-Interventional Radiology, Ultrasound, Computerized Tomography (CT), Nuclear Medicine, Positive Emission Tomography (PET) and Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MR). The Department has four Interventional Suites, three CT scanners, four Ultrasound procedure rooms, five Nuclear Medicine cameras, one PET Imaging unit, three MR scanners and eight Diagnostic radiology rooms.. Responsibilities Under the direct supervision of the Nuclear Medicine Attending staff, the Nurse Practitioner (NP) provides inpatient and outpatient care to patients in the University of California, Davis Medical Center who have Nuclear Medicine or PET exam studies. Responsibilities may include: Obtain and document patient histories and physicals, evaluate and manage minor acute Nuclear Medicine/PET problems, perform general Nuclear Medicine & PET patient evaluation and treatment, perform or assist in Nuclear Medicine/PET procedures both in the inpatient and outpatient settings, interdisciplinary team participation, and community outreach. Qualifications REQUIRED - Two years critical care experience and recent experience in the care of radiology patients as a paid NP or recent radiology care experience as a paid RN. - Graduation (MSN) from an accredited nursing program - Current California RN license - Current license as a Nurse Practitioner - Current Drug and Device Furnishing License - National Certification as a Nurse Practitioner within 3 months of hire - Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification - DEA Certificate SPECIAL REQUIREMENT - Must have the ability to lift at least 25lbs. - Physical strength to assist in lifting/moving patients - Ability to wear lead apron (approximately 10-25 lbs) for extended periods of time. - Must be able to work in an area where there is radiation exposure, electrical hazards, exposure to communicable diseases and cool environments. - Must be able to work overtime, holidays, weekends and rotate to other shifts. - Must be able to work other shift(s) to provide coverage for vacation, sick leave and leave of absences - THIS POSITION MAY BE SUBJECT TO A CRIMINAL BACKGROUND INVESTIGATION, DRUG SCREEN, LIVE SCAN FINGERPRINTING, MEDICAL EVALUATION CLEARANCE, AND FUNCTIONAL CAPACITY ASSESSMENT
