Lovelace Women’s Hospital is hiring an Emergency Department Charge RN. The Charge RN is responsible and accountable for the practice of professional nursing, including nursing management of the patient and staff of assigned area in his/her charge. Manages the patient care process of ensuring that a comprehensive patient assessment and plan of care is completed and documented on all patients within the timeframe of the established policy. Demonstrates accountability for professional practice. Serves as a role model to staff, preceptor and/or mentor. Assumes responsibility for care provided by non-RN members of the nursing team Manages staff members, assesses the needs of patients, and delegates tasks appropriately. Collaborates with the unit managers and/or directors in developing and revising unit policies, procedures and protocols. Serves as a departmental liaison and first line of contact with patients, providers and staff. Qualifications: Minimum education: Associate’s degree or diploma of nursing. Desired education: Bachelor’s degree in nursing; certification in clinical specialty Supervision/management knowledge and experience; clinical expertise; strong conflict resolution skills; ability to maintain patient confidentiality.
