Admin Nurse 3 - Surgical Oncology Coordinator

<div data-field="responsibilities" class="jd-responsibilities"><strong>Responsibilities</strong><p />Surgical Oncology Nurse will have primary responsibility for the clinical case management of the Surgical Oncology patients involving all phases of the clinical experience, from the initial referral through outpatient follow-up. This position requires an advanced level of expertise and overall understanding of surgical oncology patients. Responsibility involves coordination of interdisciplinary medical care under the direction of the Division Chief; functions as a liaison between patient, family, medical staff, referring physicians, and insurance companies; provides individualized patient/family teaching; provides nursing care to patients; utilizes appropriate resources to provide care and maintain quality assurance. Additional responsibilities include: data and specimen collection for clinical management, patient-oriented research, and certification requirements; development of educational materials including website editing and development, and programs for patients, nursing staff and physicians. Develop clinical protocols, and policy and procedures. Community education and public relations.
</div><div data-field="qualifications" class="jd-qualifications"><strong>Qualifications</strong><p />Graduation for an accredited nursing program with a BSN or MSN. Current California Registered Nurse license 2 years of critical care experience or related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.<BR><BR>Demonstrated by previous experience: an ability and experience to act as an effective teacher in a clinical setting; ability to interface effectively with patients and their families; ability to interface with Medical staff and Nursing staff; ability to teach about surgery and medical management issues.<BR><BR>An ability to apply a broad knowledge base to complex problem solving.<BR><BR>Demonstrated by previous experience and accomplishment an ability to apply a broad knowledge base to act effectively to coordinate and assess patient care and act as a liaison with nursing staff, outside agencies, team physicians, referring physicians, patient and family. <BR><BR>Ability to represent Medical Center in site visits and review by Managed Care and insurance groups.<BR><BR>Excellent organizational skills, proficiency in meeting deadlines, ability to work independently and prioritize workload. Ability to manage numerous concurrent tasks in a high stress environment and deal with change.<BR><BR>Ability to provide a leadership style that demonstrates the principles of time management, conflict resolution, problem solving and delegation.<BR> <BR></div><img height=1 width=1 border=0 src=https://ucla.contacthr.com/68595641.jpg /><img src='https://d.hodes.com/i?e=se&tv=pixel_tracker&p=web&aid=uclahealth&se_ca=misc&se_ac=impression&se_la=1944' width='1' height='1' />
