Back to top Duties Additional Duty Location Info: 1 vacancy - Ogden, UT Selectee serves as an Architect/project manager, responsible for planning, coordination and execution; data analysis; resource management; preparing briefings, recommendations and reports relating to the project. Selectee designs, coordinates, evaluates and provides technical advice on the alteration, repair, and construction of buildings and facilities nationwide. Evaluates the feasibility and ramifications of projects, providing information and recommending actions to proactively prevent problems. Selectee develops the contract specifications or scope of work for contract work performed under the IRS A/E or support services contracts. Selectee serves as architectural technical expert for at least one half of the IRS space holdings nationwide. Back to top Qualifications and Evaluations QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED: One year of specialized experience involving mastery knowledge of architectural principles, theories, concepts, methods and techniques in order to develop, plan, and design highly technical alteration and construction projects; knowledge of AutoCAD and similar industry standard software programs in order to prepare and/or review and comment on contractor prepared design documents; knowledge of the construction industry, engineering and the physical sciences, (i.e., acoustics, heating, cooling and ventilation systems, energy conservation, thermodynamics, and space planning), national and local building codes, accessibility and life safety standards, and GSA and IRS design guides as they apply to architectural practices in the design and construction of new or the improvement of existing buildings and facilities in order to review, evaluate, and identify necessary changes, corrections or additions to scopes of work, specifications, cost estimates and drawings for architectural, structural, electrical, mechanical, and space layout project requirements. This knowledge is also required to inspect completed construction work for compliance with contract specifications. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least GS-12. SUPERIOR ACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENT: Superior Academic Achievement (high academic standing of all applicants with a bachelor's degree) may be qualifying at the GS-7 level. The Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration (TIGTA) has oversight and investigative responsibilities throughout IRS.
