Information Security Specialist

Full Time 8:00-4:30 Days with some evening & night hours. Wkends, as needed. High School or GED General Description

The Information Security Specialist (ISS) is responsible for determining appropriate security measures and creating and updating policies and procedures that monitor and control access to system resources and data as well as protect the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of critical information and systems. The ISS is responsible for providing significant technical expertise and experience, standards development, program development, risk assessment, reporting, and awareness education related to information security.



QUALIFICATIONS:

- A minimum of 3 years experience with information security technologies, networking equipment, TCP/IP protocols, and MS Windows operating systems required.

- Disaster recovery, contingency planning, encryption, network security management systems, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and/or vulnerability management experience is a plus.

- Global Information Assurance Certification (GIAC), Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), or Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) is a plus.

- Healthcare experience and familiarity with HIPAA and the Joint Commission are highly desirable.
