Centocor Ortho Biotech Inc., a member of Johnson & Johnson's Family of Companies, is recruiting for a Clinical Scientist - Medical Science Liaison, Dermatology to cover Connecticut, Maine, New Hampshire, Maine, Rhode Island and Vermont. This is a field-based position and candidate must have access to major metropolitan airport.

The Clinical Scientist - Medical Science Liaison provides scientific support to opinion leaders, community physicians, investigators and other healthcare providers related to the current and future Centocor Dermatology Franchise products. They function as a scientific expert on current and future Centocor Dermatology Franchise products in the area of relevant to internal and external customers. Areas of expertise include clinical, scientific and health economics. They provide Scientific support to Dermatology Franchise opinion leaders and community physicians on clinical application of Centocor's existing and future products and responding to their unsolicited requests for scientific information via 1:1 or group discussions, discussing disease state concepts and complex medical issues.

The Clinical Scientist collaborates with Medical Affairs and Clinical Research in support of Phase II to IV clinical trials, including site identification, assessment, education of investigators, conduct of recruitment events, and participation in investigator meetings. They also provide support to investigator's requests for investigator-initiated studies according to company guidelines.

The Clinical Scientist provides scientific support to business and medical partners, including training and other scientific projects and provides feedback and intelligence on the market environment, promotional and clinical strategies, competition, and other developments relevant to Centocor's success. The The Clinical Scientist represents and supports Centocor at Dermatology scientific meetings including congresses, symposia, advisory boards, and investigator meetings. They will interpret and report findings with recommendations for action to relevant Centocor personnel and balance franchise priorities with customer based initiatives, administrative duties, personal calendar and travel capacity. This is not an exhaustive, comprehensive listing of job functions. May perform other duties as assigned.

Contacts inside the company include: other CS-MSL Teams, Immunology Medical Affairs, Marketing and Global Biologic Strategic Marketing Groups, Clinical Research and Development, Biostatistics, and Sales team. Contacts outside the company include: opinion leaders, community physicians, investigators and other healthcare providers.

Qualifications
A minimum of a BA/BS in life science is required; Advanced degree at the doctorate level strongly preferred e.g., Ph.D., PharmD, or MD. A minimum of 3 years total work experience with previous experience as a Medical Science Liaison is required. Knowledge of the Dermatology areas is preferred. Comfort with the utilization of computer, company applications, and remote technology and ability to fully understand and apply CS SOP's/guidelines and company HCC/Regulatory/Legal guidelines is required. Working experience with MS PowerPoint is required and experience with MS Word, Outlook, Excel is an asset. Position will average 60-70% travel including overnight stays. A valid U.S. driver's license and clean driving record are required.

In-depth scientific and therapeutic knowledge within the franchise including Centocor and competitive products as well as disease states within the franchise is preferred.
