Job Title Patient Care Liaison
*** This is a field based position covering Florida.
The Patient Care Liaison is a regional, field-based position that will provide medical education and support to patients and families affected by Lysosomal Storage Disorders, for which Genzyme provides an option for treatment, and to those who care for, or advocate for, them such as physicians, genetic counselors, nurses, pharmacists and ancillary staff, as well as patient organizations.
The Clinical Education Specialist works in a team approach with numerous internal groups, such as Patient and Product Services and Sales, to help facilitate and optimize patient care. The objectives are dictated by the specific needs of each region and thus the percentage of time spent on each job responsibility will vary.

• Provide medical education to patients and families to ensure that they are well informed in order to make appropriate decisions regarding treatment options
• Provide medical education and support to patient organizations
• Provide medical education and support to treatment centers
• Develop and implement strategies to address adherence to therapy
• Develop and implement special projects to address regional based objectives
Basic Qualifications:
• 5+ years of previous nursing, Genetics Counseling or PT experience required.
- 3 years of experience in the genetics field required.
• Registered Nurse or Genetic Counselor background is required.
- Bachelors Degree in Nursing or Science required.
-A minimum of 5 years of previous experience working with a patient population
-Previous experience managing a multiple state territory required.
-Ability to travel up to 50% required.
