Regents Health Care Scholarship for Medicine and Dentistry

This scholarship is available to minority and disadvantaged students in the medical and dental professions.

Eligibility: Applicants must be beginning or already enrolled in an approved program of study in medicine or dentistry in New York state. Applicants must be U.s citizens, permanent resident, or selected refugees approved by the Attorney General of the U.S. Applicants must have been legal residents of New York for at least one year immediately preceding the effective date of the award, and must be enrolled in an approved medical or dental school in New York state or a candidate for admission to an approved medical or dental school in New York. Priority is given to students who are members of minority groups historically underrepresented in the professions. Recipients agree to practice in an area or facility within New York state designated by the Regents as having a shortage of physicians or dentists.
