AACE International Competitive Scholarships
AACE International is dedicated to advancing the study of cost engineering and cost management through the integrative process of total cost management. To promote this objective, AACEI awards academic scholarships to full-time students pursuing a related degree in engineering, construction management, building construction, computer sciences, business, quantity surveying, information technology, etc. The cost engineering profession uses the process of total cost management to identify and define those areas of business in which the discipline of cost engineering and cost management principles may be applied to plan and control resources, assets, costs, profitability, and risk. The major elements of the cost engineering discipline include estimating, project/product controls, planning and scheduling, business sciences, and project/product management.

Academic Year Ambassadorial Scholarship
Applicant must be a citizen of a country in which there is a Rotary club, have completed at least two years of college course work or two years of post-secondary employment in a recognized vocation, and submit essay, recommendations, club endorsement, transcripts, and language ability forms. Preference is given to disabled applicants. Rotarians, Honorary Rotarians, and employees of Rotary entities are not eligible; spouses, children/grandchildren, spouses of children/grandchildren, and parents/grandparents of living Rotarians/Honorary Rotarians/Rotary employees are not eligible.

Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences
The Nicholl Scholarship Program is an international competition open to writers who have not earned more than $5,000 writing for film or television. Works must be soley the original work of the author. They must also have been written originally in English. Aplications will be avaliable AFTER Jan 1.

ACI Fellowship
Applicant must have a bachelor's degree by summer of the application year, be proficient in English (French for Quebec schools; Spanish for Puerto Rican schools), and be accepted or enrolled full-time for the first or second year of graduate study at an accredited school in the U.S. or Canada which offers a graduate program in concrete design, materials, or construction.

ACI-NA Commissioners Committee Scholarship
Applicant must reside in and attend an accredited college or university in the U.S., Canada, Saipan, the Virgin Islands, or Guam and have a minimum 3.0 GPA. Applicant must demonstrate financial need, academic excellence and how he or she will positively impact the airport industry. Official transcripts, two letters of recommendation, and personal essay with emphasis on applicant's interest in airport management or airport operations required. Preference given to juniors and seniors. Other majors will be considered if applicant's goal of a career in airport management can be demonstrated through work experience or personal essay.

Acoma Scholarship Award

Adelaide Ryerson Smith Memorial Award

Applicant must be a member of CSA. Award is to assist travel to CSA National Symposia to present either a juried paper or a poster.

Admiral Raphael Semmes Scholarship
Applicant must be a lineal descendant of worthy Confederates or collateral descendant who is a member of the Children of the Confederacy or the United Daughters of the Confederacy. Applicant must have at least a 3.0 GPA, be enrolled in an accredited college or university, and carry a minimum of 12 hours each semester. Applicant must be prepared to pass entrance examination of prospective college or university. Applicant must submit proof of Confederate Military Record, line of descent from Confederate ancestor, a letter of endorsement from sponsoring Chapter, a letter of recommendation, complete financial report, official transcripts, an essay on the significance of a southern heritage, and a wallet-size photo. Original and four copies of the application forms and five copies of all documents, certificates, and letters must be submitted to the Division Director of Education. All inquiries must include a self-addressed, stamped envelope.

AFCEA Copernicus Foundation Scholarship
Degree-seeking candidates must be enrolled in a Computer Graphic Design curriculum at an accredited four-year college or university in the United States, be a U.S. citizen, and be a sophomore or junior at the time of application. Applications must be accompanied by Letters of Recommendation and current transcripts. Please refer to application form below for details. Submission of digital artwork should meet the following criteria: One sample of digital graphic artwork for intranets and internets, in particular web-based graphics, will be accepted per applicant. Artistic creativity, as well as mastery of web technology, important. Work must be totally that of the applicant, not a group effort or an improvement on an existing site. Applicant must have earned a bachelor's or master's degree in landscape architecture, have been in in professional practice for at least three years, and wish to continue education. Selection is based upon innovative nature of proposal, benefits to the profession, acheivement of personal goals, and applicant's qualifications.

Ailene C. Ewell Scholarship Award
To qualify for this scholarship, applicants must be referred by a chapter of Chi Eta Phi Sorority. Selection for this scholarship is based upon financial need, scholastic ability, interest in nursing, and leadership potential. For this scholarship, priority is given to nursing majors.

Air Force ROTC Prehealth and Armed Forces Health Professions Scholarship
Applicant must be enrolled/admitted to this institution. Applicant must be a U.S. citizen, meet medical and physical qualifications, and be eligible for commissioning prior to age 27. Three-year scholarship applicant must have a minimum 3.65 GPA, and two-year scholarship applicant must have a minimum 3.5 GPA. Veterans may qualify for up to three additional years. After completing undergraduate degree, recipients receive medical school benefit though Armed Forces Health Professions Scholarship program or are admitted to Uniformed Services U of Health Sciences.

Airgas - Terry Jarvis Memorial Scholarship
Applicant must be pursuing a minimum four-year degree in welding engineering or welding engineering technology. Applicant must have a minimum 2.8 overall grade point average, with a 3.0 grade point average in engineering courses, be at least 18 years of age, a U.S. citizen, and attending an institution in the U.S. Proof of financial need is not required.

ALA Christopher J. Hoy/ERT Scholarship
The Christopher J. Hoy/ERT Scholarship was named for a long time ALA staff member, who once directed the ALA Conference Services Office for more than two decades. This scholarship was funded with donations from Christopher J. Hoy and the Exhibits Round Table (ERT) to honor his memory.

Alabama G.I. Dependents' Scholarship
Applicant must be the dependent of a disabled veteran (child or stepchild under age 26) or spouse or unremarried widow(er) who is enrolled in a state-supported institution in Alabama. The veteran must have honorably served at least 90 days of continuous active federal military service, be rated 20% or more disabled due to service-connected disabilities or have held the qualifying rating at the time of death, or be a former prisoner of war, declared missing in action, or have died as the result of a service-connected disability or in the line of duty while on active duty. The veteran must have been a permanent civilian resident of the state of Alabama for at least one year immediately prior to initial entry into active military service or any subsequent period of military service in which a break in service occurred and civilian residency was established. Dependents of permanently disabled service-connected veterans rated at 100% may also qualify after the veteran has established at least five years of permanent residency in Alabama.

Alexander Scholarship Loan
Applicant must be willing to work for the YMCA for one year for each year a loan is awarded or have a loan repayment plan at the time the application is submitted. If applicant does work for YMCA, loan is forgiven. To request an application, include one dollar with a self-addressed envelope.

Alexandra Apostolides Sonenfeld Award

This scholarship is available to students attending a participating UNCF college or university. Applicants must be nominated by the financial aid director at the college and must have a minimum GPA of 2.5, as well as unmet financial need. Applicants must complete the FAFSA. This scholarship is awarded through a competition in San Francisco open to UNCF juniors and seniors interested in pre-medicine and to first and second year Morehouse Medical School students.

Open to students enrolled or accepted in programs leading to specialist in blood banking certification at an AABB-accredited institution. Award is to promote interest in research, development, and continuing education in the field of blood banking. An essay of 3000 words or less is required.

Appaloosa Youth Foundation Youth Education Continuing Scholarship
The Appaloosa Youth Foundation will award annually eight youth educational scholarships of up to $1,000 each. One will be awarded in each of the six territories of the Appaloosa Horse Club, one will be awarded at-large, and one may be awarded to a winner from the previous year in the form of a continuing scholarship. The Appaloosa Youth Foundation reserves the right to vary the number of scholarships awarded, based on number of applicants per territory. The territory to which each winner belongs is determined by the permanent address of the winner. A first alternate and a second alternate will be designated for each territory and will receive a scholarship should a winner not use his/her award in the period stipulated. Scholarships are awarded annually, preceding the school year for which they must be used.
