JACL National Scholarship Program
The JACL began its National Scholarship and Awards Program in 1946. In line with past generations of Japanese Americans, the JACL recognizes education as a key to greater opportunities for its members. The program currently offers over 30 awards, with an annual total of over $60,000 in scholarships to qualified students nationwide. The National Scholarship and Awards Program offer scholarships to students at the entering freshman, undergraduate, graduate, law, financial need and creative & performing arts. All scholarships are one-time awards.

Applicant must be enrolled at a BEA-member institution. Selection is based upon substantial evidence of superior academic performance and potential to be an outstanding contributor to the field. Applicant should communicate interest in the general field of broadcasting and have a high order of integrity and sense of responsibility.

James M. Johnston Foundation Scholarship
This scholarship is available to students from Washington, DC who attend a UNCF member college or university who have been nominated by the financial aid director of the college. Applicants must have a minimum GPA of 2.5 and unmet financial need as verified by the financial aid director.

James M. Philputt Memorial Scholarship
Applicant must be a member of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), plan to prepare for the ordained ministry, have a minimum C+ grade average, and submit transcripts and references.

James R. Vogt Memorial Undergraduate Scholarship

Janet Kephart-Bauer Scholarship

Janice McGraw Memorial Scholarship
Applicant must be an American Occupational Therapy Association member and a North Carolia resident who is currently enrolled full time in an accredited or developing educational program, demonstrate financial need, and have sustained record of outstanding scholastic achievement. Jay Levine Endowed Scholarship Program
This scholarship is available to students from Detroit who attend a UNCF member college or university who have been nominated by the financial aid director of the college. Applicants must have a minimum GPA of 2.5 and unmet financial need as verified by the financial aid director.

Jay Wetzel Quality Scholarship for Excellence
Applicant must be enrolled/admitted to this institution. Applicant must be a U.S. citizen. Selection is based upon academic excellence and participation in non-academic school and community-related activities.

Jaycee War Memorial Fund Scholarship
Applicant must be a U.S. citizen, possess academic potential and leadership traits, and show financial need. Enclose a self-addressed, business-sized, stamped envelope and a $5 application fee (check or money order made payable to JWMF) with request between July 1 and February 1.

Jayhawk Transfer Scholarship
Applicant must be enrolled/admitted to this institution. Applicant must have a minimum 3.25 GPA and have completed at least 24 credit hours.

JCC Association Scholarship
Applicant must have a Jewish background, be committed to Jewish community center work, and be a master's degree candidate in an area leading to a professional career in Jewish community centers and YMHAs/YWHAs. Applicant must commit to work in a Jewish community center for three years upon graduation.

JCCA Scholarship
Applicant must be Jewish, have a minimum 3.0 undergraduate GPA, demonstrate leadership potential, and agree to work in a JCCA-affiliated Jewish community center for three years after graduation. Applicant must major in a field applicable to work in a Jewish community center.

Jean Weber Memorial Scholarship
Applicant must be a resident of Ventura County, Ca. Applicant must be a student who has contributed to safe schools, improved school attendance, and encouraged good citizenship.

Jeanne E. Bray Memorial Scholarship
Applicant must be the child of a full-time, commissioned peace officer and NRA member who is currently employed or who died in the line of duty. Selection is based upon academic achievement, honors and awards, school and community service, special accomplishments, work experience, and essay.
Number Awarded: 40% of applications.

Jefferson County Scholarship
Applicant must be enrolled/admitted to this institution. Applicant must come from a family that has resided in Jefferson County, Iowa since 1970. Selection is based upon academic ability.

Jefferson Davis Award
Applicant must be a lineal descendant of worthy Confederates or collateral descendant who is a member of the Children of the Confederacy or the United Daughters of the Confederacy. Applicant must have at least a 3.0 GPA, be enrolled in an accredited college or university, and carry a minimum of 12 hours each semester. Applicant must be prepared to pass entrance examination of prospective college or university. Applicant must submit proof of Confederate Military Record, line of descent from Confederate ancestor, a letter of endorsement from sponsoring Chapter, a letter of recommendation, complete financial report, official transcripts, an essay on the significance of a southern heritage, and a wallet-size photo. Original and four copies of the application forms and five copies of all documents, certificates, and letters must be submitted to the Division Director of Education. All inquiries must include a self-addressed, stamped envelope. Recipient chosen by Bowdoin Coll.

Jenkins Scholarship
Applicant must be an Oregon resident, have graduated from a Portland School District 1J secondary school, and demonstrate financial need. Secondary school applicant must have a minimum 3.5 GPA. Postsecondary applicant must have a minimum 3.0 GPA. Preference is given to Jefferson High School applicants.

Jerry W. Richmond Memorial Scholarship
Applicant must be a student member of AmSECT, attending an accredited perfusion training program when scholarship is awarded, have completed a minimum of one fourth of his or her course work, and maintain an overall GPA equivalent to a B. Applicant must submit a letter of support from their program director, a 500 word typewritten essay on how perfusionists affect patient outcomes, and transcript. Selection is based upon essay and academic achievement.
